The JustGreen Jean Monnet Chair at University of Cantabria.

The JustGreen Chair at UC directed by Prof. Judith Clifton will deliver a suite of new teaching, research & Q1 publications, events (Jean Monnet Special Lectures and Workshops), dialogue and outreach activities, to put EU efforts to combat the climate crisis with Just green policy responses at the centre of local, national and European scholarly, professional and policy-making communities. Judith & her team will annually teach 150 hours of newly designed material on EU green policies-particularly, the European Green Deal– understood as a green transition that «leaves no-one behind». New teaching content will be seamlessly integrated across 5 courses that Judith leads, benefitting over 100 undergraduate and postgraduate domestic/ERASMUS/ERASMUS-MUNDUS/international students studying at the UC annually. The research & publication package will enable the creation of a talented cluster of researchers to conduct dialogues and analysis on a specialist sub-field of EU just, green policy-just, green finance. In particular, they will focus on two of the EU´s most important financial actors: the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Chair output includes a Special Issue (Q1 journal), two academic papers (Q1 journals), and two accompanying policy blogs. The Chair will facilitate dialogue with policy-makers and civil servants on EU just green policy in general, and just green finance. in particular, by organizing at least ten high-level meetings with professionals and policy-make locally (SODERCAN), nationally (ICO) and at the European level (EIB, EBRD, EC, etc) including lectures & workshops with UC students. Outreach with the general public will be conducted through participation in Researcher´s Night and to younger citizens through school visits. Chair activities will use a website and LinkedIn (the team has a following of 15K) and the Horizon GreenPaths project Judith leads as a network for communication & dissemination.
